Hon. David Campbell brings over 30 years' experience of thought leadership, strategic planning and advocacy in the areas of regional economic growth, public policy development and strategic leadership as Lord Mayor of Wollongong and a NSW Cabinet Minister.
During 7 years as a Cabinet Minister in the NSW Government, David effected strategic policy change in areas such as transport, roads, police, water utilities, small business, the Illawarra and regional development. He was a member of the Budget Committee of Cabinet, Chair of the Infrastructure Cabinet Committee and he was Chaired of the Trustee Board of a Superannuation Fund. He is currently the Deputy Chair and a Director of Big Fat Smile, a NFP in the children’s early learning and care sector. David also provides strategic advice and Counsel to several Cancer Research Institutes as a consumer advocate.
David has served on the Boards of infrastructure, superannuation, education, health, arts, social housing, early learning and sport companies and industry associations. His boardroom skills include strategic planning, performance review and change management, mentoring, monitoring management, and risk. He is a Graduate and Fellow of the AICD and with 25 years’ experience in senior elected roles, maintains a strong interest in strategic planning, infrastructure and service delivery, corporate governance, economic development and jobs growth.
